01
If you are looking for the beef to be more tender, slice each piece in half or in thirds. (This will also shorten the cooking time)
Angus beef
-
Add vegetable oil to a large sauce pan or wok at medium-high heat.
-
Once the pan is ready, add the beef in.
-
Season the beef with garlic, onion powder, and kosher salt.
-
Spread out the meat so that it isn't overcrowded (this leads to steaming instead of searing).
-
Let sit for about 3-5 minutes or until the bottom becomes brown with signs of char. Remember, do not bother the meat once it touches the pan. To check for doneness, use a meat thermometer or check an individual piece.
-
Once ready, flip each piece over one by one and sear for 3-5 minutes on the other side.
-
Once finished, pour into a separate bowl.
02
Veggies
-
Chop broccoli, cauliflower, white onion, zucchini, and squash into equal-sized pieces. You can also add other veggies like mushrooms, red peppers, and snow peas.
-
Chop ginger and add to the pan or wok. (Again, at high heat).
-
Add onions first, and then add the rest of the veggies.
-
Season with garlic powder, onion powder, and sesame seeds.
-
Sauté until the broccoli is dark green in color.
-
Mix in barbecue stir-fry sauce.
03
Combine
-
Add back in beef.
-
Stir until veggies are fully cooked.
